Ratio Acknowledged - 2 prestigious Awards
Each year, the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) recognizes Professional Consultants' achievements in their National Awards for Excellence to those organizations which make quality development possible.
National Awards for Excellence 2008
In December 2008 Ratio Consultants were recognized for their involvement in the "Cheltenham Green Development" as winner of an Award for Excellence in the category of Urban Renewal Projects.
Ratio's involvement was to provide an assessment of, and input to, the traffic, road network and parking aspects of the development plan which had been formulated for site. As part of Ratio's assessment a Traffic Impact Report was prepared to assist the local community, and ultimately the City of Kingston in its assessment of the traffic and parking merits of the proposed redevelopment.
The Proposal - Cheltenham Green Development
The proposal involves the refurbishment and conversion of Retreat House in Cavanagh Street, Cheltenham into residential apartments as well as the subdivision of the remainder of the site into small lots for townhouse and standard residential development. The overall redevelopment comprised of:-
- 20 apartments and townhouses; and
- 36 residential allotments.

Result
With Ratio's expert knowledge, guiding and providing design advice, the proposed subdivision was designed to provide good internal and external access for future residents, including direct access to the adjacent areas of open space, and safe linkages to the surrounding road network.
The key objective was to provide safe and efficient access for the residents of the development without compromising the existing surrounding road network, allowing for a successful development.
