Development Summary

The construction of a seven-storey, mixed-use development (plus basement) accommodating shops, food and drink premises (café), 66 dwellings and associated car parking.

Project Characteristics

This project broke new ground as the first apartment development approved for a street designated for higher-density residential in the north of the Werribee Activity Centre.

Designed by Moull Murray Architects for Waylon International Pty Ltd, the development sets a bar for adjoining development to meet through its modern design response and the use of quality materials including face and inlay bricks, metal and brick cladding, and mixed glazing treatments. The contrasting palette of charcoal for the double-storey form at street level and white for the upper levels forms a striking, visually-interesting building.

Future residents for the mix of one and two-bedroom apartments will enjoy a high standard of internal amenity, comfortably meeting the Better Apartment Design Standards, as the building form arranged to ensure no borrowed light or saddleback layouts. The inclusion of ground level retail and food premises will provide street-level activation expected for the transitioning precinct.
