There is always something happening at ratio: stay up to date with our project and team news here.
We are delighted to congratulate Steve Hunt, Principal: Traffic, on being awarded a Victorian Planning and Environmental Law Association (VPELA) Fellowship.
Announced at the VPELA Gala on Friday 4 May 2018, the fellowship is a recognition of Steve’s contribution as a leader in the industry, his professional excellence and his significant contribution to the development of Melbourne over the past 40 years.
Steve has worked on a diverse range of projects throughout Victoria. Some of the highlights for Steve have been his long running involvement with Caroline Springs, Cabrini Hospital and provision of expert evidence at both Planning Panels Victoria and VCAT.
Steve currently spends his time providing expert opinion at VCAT and Panels for a wide variety of developments. He is renowned for his cool, calm manner under sometimes intense cross examination and handles each case with diplomacy, tact and a wry smile. When Steve is in the office, he is a highly valued member of the Ratio team, providing sage advice to the engineering staff.
Steve was unable to accept the award in person due to being in Los Angeles, on one of his yearly overseas holidays, but says “I thank VPELA for the honour of joining their fellowship, alongside my esteemed peers Des Grogan, Greg Tucker, Henry Turnbull and Charmaine Dunstan. In my 40+ years within the industry I’ve seen many changes, most notably the shift towards sustainable transport policies and practices and the evolution of traffic and transport engineering as an integral component of land use planning. It’s been a pleasure to serve and contribute toward the planning profession.”
Well done Steve!
