Following a recent review undertaken by the State Government, a new schedule of planning and subdivision application fees will be administered across Victoria as of 13 October 2016.
A number of changes have been made to the fees themselves, in addition to the structure of the schedule. These changes not only apply to the different categories of application, but will introduce new brackets associated with their estimated cost of development.
For the most part, fees will increase, with some applications being subject to higher increases than others. For example, an application for a change of use has more than doubled from $502 to $1,241, while an application to develop the land with an estimated cost of development of between $5 million-$15 million will increase to as high as $8,190; approximately 7 times higher than the current fee of $1,153 (being the current fee for applications of between $1 million and $7 million). Applications for development between $15 million and $50 million will increase to $24,151, up from $8,064.
