Development Summary

The construction of three dwellings on a lot.

Project Characteristics

The development of three townhouses is not normally news-worthy; however, in the case of No. 34 Jurang Street an exception is to be made. The architecture is designed by Parallel Workshop and incorporates a curved façade to Jurang Street with a combination of and flat roof forms. The elevations comprise a modern material palette with a selected brick finish at ground floor and applied render at first floor, all in off-white / grey tones.

The intelligent design response takes cues from surrounding houses without repressing the architectural expression. The contemporary, yet respectful infill development sets a high bar for future residential development within the area. The neighbourhood character challenges which arose during the planning application process were successfully navigated by the project team in collaboration with Council’s planner and urban designer, without compromising the client’s expectations.
