A planning permit has been issued for a seven-storey retail and office development located at 300 Swan Street, Richmond.

Designed by Katz Architecture, the proposal retains the first two levels of retail flooring and adds an additional five levels of office space and a rooftop terrace.

Ratio’s planning and traffic teams consulted on the development, facilitating approval of a planning permit granted through Council by gaining support at a City of Yarra Council Meeting.

The building achieves significant environmental outcomes, including a focus on sustainable outcomes both during and after construction. Notably, the building will be constructed through a combination of CLT, Glulam and LVL timber, all sourced from renewable plantations.

Located on the accessible corner of Mary and Swan Streets, the building proposal also promotes the use of sustainable transport modes, with only 3 car parking spaces being provided on site.

The development will introduce additional high quality office space that will contribute to the local economy, employment opportunities and urban design outcomes. The building is consistent with planning policy and is an important step towards commercially revitalising Swan Street in post-COVID times.

Ratio looks forward to the upcoming construction in our local area.
